How ScieRxiv Works
ScieRxiv is an online platform that is freely accessible. For detailed instructions on preparing or submitting your paper, refer to the author instructions.
Submission: To submit your paper, log in to your ScieRxiv account and click 'Submit'. Provide the necessary details about your paper and upload the file. If you do not have an account, you can easily create one through our simple one-step registration process. It is crucial to review the author instructions before submitting. Authors also have the option to submit their manuscripts to ScieRxiv while submitting to any OAE journal. If your manuscript has already been released as a preprint, you may consider submitting it to an appropriate OAE journal.
Screening: All preprints undergo a brief screening before being published online, usually completed within 24 hours. This screening process includes checking for fundamental scientific content, author background, and adherence to ethical standards. The screening is conducted by ScieRxiv staff, with support from active researchers and the ScieRxiv Advisory Board.
Online Publication: Preprints that pass the screening process are published online in an open-access format licensed under Creative Commons CC BY 4.0. This ensures maximum visibility for authors and proper recognition of your work. Once online, preprints can be downloaded, shared, commented on, and cited.
Citation: Published preprints are registered with Crossref to receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), making them citeable.
Reuse: Our open-access license permits the reuse of preprints, including distribution among colleagues, utilization in teaching, journal clubs, press releases, and more. Proper attribution and recognition are required when using the author’s work excerpts. It is important to note that as preprints have not undergone peer review, caution and responsibility should be exercised when reusing them. In critical situations where accuracy is pivotal, readers should seek professional advice and check if a peer-reviewed version is available on the abstract page.
Comments and Discussions: Readers are encouraged to comment on preprints, as it helps authors refine their papers before journal publication. Comments can range from general opinions to suggestions for enhancements or highlighting sections for other readers. Readers who wish to have their comments acknowledged as reviews can receive credit through Publons by linking their accounts. Comments must adhere to professional discourse standards, focusing on the scientific content. Insults, offensive language, personal attacks, and off-topic remarks are strictly prohibited. Readers posting comments are required to disclose any competing interests, financial or otherwise. ScieRxiv reserves the right to remove comments without prior notice.
